We were born from the dream of an intrepid and multifaceted man who in 1869 imagined a small salting company in one of the most important fishing ports of the Cantabrian coast. Carlos Albo Kay, in addition to being a teacher of English, French and mathematics, decided to produce salted anchovies on a small scale and in an artisanal way from Santoña. A decision that changed everything.
At the beginning of the 20th century, we had already created the authentic canned anchovies. A step that allowed us to develop production. At that time, the lack of refrigeration technology meant that the factories had to be located close to the main ports. Therefore, in 1929 we founded our factory in Vigo, moving the bulk of our activity there.
During these years we have managed to reach more than 25 countries, we have innovated being pioneers with the easy open, we have incorporated ready meals in our catalog with more than 100 references. But the most important thing is that we have managed to keep the good things during all this time.
Currently our presence reaches more than 25 countries and regions in the five continents. A growing number of consumers are enjoying and appreciating the great taste of Albo canned products beyond our borders.
